Hypothalamus, responsible for hunger. When i think hunger, i think of my stomach grumbling -all the stomach acid churning around. I created this using bleach and oil. They reacted in this way which i had no control over, dancing around in the water. Magic!
A short film for circulation. Ofcourse the red is representive of the blood. The tunnel like editting i did is to represent the flow of the blood rushing around the body.
Medulla controls unconscious functions such as breathing and circulation. Here you can tell i played on the circulation aspect of Medulla. I wanted to create visual imagery representing the movement and fluidity of the bloody cells flowing though the veins
An experiment in metaphorically representing the spinal chord. The light represents the electrical activity of the brain passing through the spinal chord controlling all our actions. I like that it almost looks like there is so many layers of light like a brain is made up of layers and layers of information. Talking about the spinal chord makes my me shiver for some reason. Probably because something so small is the bridge between the functions of a body and the powerful all mighty brain. Deep stuff.
Marie Menken - ‘Lights’. Originally silent - some random added a track over it on youtube.. not my fault! This film is very inspiring. As i want to somehow progress my ‘Spinal Cord’ photos into moving image, Menkens film influences me because of the movement of the camera and the vivid colours. Lovely jubly.
